2025 Retreads International Rally Recap

2025 Retreads International Rally Recap

Hosted by the New England Retreads & Regional Directors Ron & Robin Cardin

What a ride — and what a rally! The 2025 Retreads International Rally, hosted by the New England Retreads under the warm and spirited leadership of Regional Directors Ron & Robin Cardin, was nothing short of spectacular. Held in the heart of New England, this year’s rally brought together Retreads from across the country (and beyond) to celebrate camaraderie, shared passion, and of course — the open road.

Incredible Rides, Breathtaking Views

Whether rolling through winding country roads, scenic byways, or coastal stretches, the rides organized during the rally were top-tier. The fall colors, paired with cool breezes and crisp air, offered the perfect backdrop for exploring everything that New England has to offer on two or three wheels. Riders of all makes — from Harleys to Hondas to trikes — enjoyed every mile, forming convoys filled with laughter, revving engines, and memories in the making.

Fellowship at Its Finest

Beyond the bikes, what made this rally truly shine was the community spirit. Retreads from across the country came together not just to ride, but to reconnect, share stories, and celebrate the unique bond that brings us all together — the love of motorcycling and the Retreads tradition.

Evenings were filled with social events, group meals, and heartfelt laughter. We saw new friendships formed and old ones rekindled. Everywhere you looked, someone had a smile on their face — and usually a cup of coffee or a gear bag in hand.

Special Thanks to Ron & Robin Cardin

The Retreads Crest: A Symbol of Camaraderie and the Open Road

The Retreads Crest is a registered insignia and trademark in the United States and Canada, protecting the identity and heritage of our club. It is worn with pride by members who cherish the open road, great friendships, and the freedom of riding.

For members of the Retreads Motorcycle Club, our crest is more than just a logo—it’s a symbol of our journey, camaraderie, and passion for motorcycling. It represents who we are, the miles we’ve traveled, and the friendships we’ve built along the way. Every element of the crest carries deep meaning, reflecting the spirit, strength, and unity of our riding community.

The Meaning Behind the Retreads Crest

Each part of our crest is intentional, telling the story of what it means to be a Retread and the values we hold dear.

🏆 The Shape – Inspired by a prestigious U.S. Navy award, our crest signifies excellence and distinction, celebrating the dedication and passion of our members.

💛 The Gold Field – A tribute to the Golden Years of life, honoring those who have reached 40 and beyond and continue to embrace the adventure of motorcycling.

🔥 The Red Field with Stallions – Representing valor, strength, and determination, the stallions stand proudly as a symbol of the stamina and resilience of our riders. The pairing of two stallions embodies teamwork and unity, key values of the Retreads community.

The Bar Sinister (Diagonal Stripe) – The black and blue band across the crest serves as a reminder of the bruises, lessons, and experiences we’ve gained while mastering the road. Every rider knows the road teaches valuable lessons, and this stripe pays homage to that journey.

🤍 The White Field – A symbol of purity of mind, new experiences, and the excitement of the open road. It also reflects the anxious yet exhilarating feeling we all had during our first tight squeeze on a motorcycle!

🔢 The Red Roman Numerals “XL Plus” – Representing our age (40+), because let’s be honest, we all know that life truly begins at forty!

🔵 The Blue Overbar – Designates the state or province of the member, showcasing where they call home within the Retreads community.

🛡️ The Name “Retreads” – Just like a tire that’s been retreaded to give it new life, many of us have rediscovered our passion for motorcycling after years of life’s responsibilities. Now, with more time and freedom, we’re back on the road, recharged, renewed, and Retreaded!

Regional Clubs: Strength in Community

The Retreads family extends across the U.S., Canada, and beyond. Regional clubs provide local members with the opportunity to participate in rides, rallies, and social gatherings closer to home.

How are Regional Clubs Formed?
A Regional Director is appointed by the President and, with Board approval, may oversee State and Area Representatives who help manage local groups.

Responsibilities of Regional Leaders:
State and Area Representatives report to the Regional Directors, who in turn report to the President. Any leader stepping down must relinquish their position back to the club leadership.

Funding and Membership Donations

The Retreads Motorcycle Club operates as a not-for-profit organization. Our expenses—such as newsletters, event organization, and club materials—are covered by membership donations.

💲 Annual Donation Fees:

  • $20 per individual
  • $25 per couple
(Canadian rates may vary, set by the Canadian Directors)

Regional and state clubs contribute $2 per member annually to support the International Retreads organization.

Only the President, Secretary, and Regional Directors (or their appointed representatives) are authorized to receive and manage club funds.

The Retreads Leadership Structure

The Board of Directors and club officers ensure that the Retreads operate efficiently and fairly while maintaining the club’s core values.

Board of Directors

  • Making decisions in the best interest of the club

  • Secretary – Maintains records, club documents, and ensures the proper execution of all paperwork.
  • Legislative Officer – Assists with organizational governance and ensures compliance with club policies.

Changes to the bylaws must be approved by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.

All amendments are documented and updated within our official records.
